Another milestone in the region: Bocholt-based freight forwarding company WM Group expands logistics centre in Voerde

A new milestone in the history of the logistics industry was set in Voerde on 15 June 2023. The Bocholt-based WM Group celebrated the opening of the second construction phase of its logistics centre in Panattoni Park Voerde. With an additional hall area of 30,700 square metres, the WM Group, which has been operating successfully in the logistics market for more than 70 years, is increasing the total area of its centre to an impressive 150,000 square metres.

This ambitious project, which aims to consolidate four customer businesses from a total of three different locations, consolidates the WM Group’s position as a leading company in the area of Contract logistics. It also promises to give the local economy a major boost by creating around 120 jobs for industrial and commercial employees.

The opening ceremony began with a warm welcome from Antonia Jenssen, Senior Marketing Manager at Panattoni. Dirk Haarmann, the mayor of Voerde, then praised the WM Group’s commitment to the region and emphasised the importance of the new logistics centre for the local economy. Andreas Evertz, CEO of the Flender Group, was also present and spoke about the positive impact of the centre on the surrounding companies.
