WM Group realigns itself and focuses on sector-specific growth

Bocholt, 19 March 2025. The WM GROUP is realigning its service portfolio and organisation - with a clear focus on customised, industry-specific logistics solutions and profitable growth.

Strategic orientation

The WM GROUP - together with Logata and Lanfer Automation & Robotics - is part of LB GmbH (Löhr family). In this structure, the WM GROUP forms the customer face, Logata provides the IT infrastructure including its own WMS, and Lanfer Automation & Robotics contributes automation and robotics expertise. This results in holistic solutions from physical logistics to control systems and automation.

Service areas with depth

• Trade logistics: Textile, consumer goods and DIY store logistics - including e-commerce processing for bulky goods (e.g. large-format tiles, awnings) with specialised packaging solutions.
• Industry & spare parts: Customised concepts for spare parts logistics - a key growth driver for the coming years.
• Temperature-controlled logistics: Operation of the largest cigar humidor in NRW for a leading tobacco manufacturer.
• Food Logistics & Transport: Daily distribution of baked goods with our own fleet of vehicles.

Organisational structure

At the beginning of the year, the WM GROUP was organised into five divisions: IT, Operating business, Project management, Process optimisation and Distribution (under the responsibility of Managing Director Ralf Kahnert). The aim is a lean, scalable organisation with clear responsibilities.

Growth targets

Starting from around 45 million € annual turnover WM GROUP is striving for organic growth at 60 million € to. The plan is to achieve an annual increase of 5-7 million € by expanding existing partnerships and acquiring new customers - without „growth at any price“. The focus is on sectors with a high demand for flexible warehousing and distribution, in particular the Mechanical and plant engineering (spare parts) and the Packaging logistics for sensitive and large-format products.

People & Culture

The WM GROUP is countering the shortage of skilled labour with training and retention - the family working atmosphere is having an effect: it is not uncommon for employees to recommend the company to others in their own environment.
